I've been working in architecture for 18 years. I wanted to be an Architect from an early age and was inspired to go into construction by my dad, who worked as a quantity surveyor. However, I wanted to work in the creative side of construction and, after completing some work experience at an architecture practice, I was hooked. It was the only path for me.
I love the process of design, seeing my work come to life on site and, ultimately, looking at a finished building. I've worked on all sorts or projects, from luxury residential apartments in central London, to one off houses, doctor's surgeries, commercial office spaces and most recently completing a primary school in Kensington. You can see some photographs of my completed projects by clicking here.
Here's a couple of favourites too, taken from a luxury apartment block I designed in Clerkenwell, London:
This year I've been enjoying working with my brother as we establish our company, Coronet Group. We joined forces this year to bring my architecture and Andy's property marketing skills together. We wanted to start building our own property portfolio with a focus on good quality shared housing. However, we're both from a professional services background and we're certainly not leaving that all behind.
We're being asked a lot to advise people on architectural design and we've consequently launched a specialised consultancy service. We're based in Bedford and have been advising people in our area who are looking to complete some improvements to their property, whether that's an extension, loft conversion or building a new house. If you're in the East of England, East Midlands or Home Counties on the northern side of London, get in touch.
We've also been working with property developers too. One is looking to build more than 50 houses on two sites in North Wales and we've been guiding them through some of the requirements of planning permission and building a design team. Another, closer to home, is planning on building four homes in Bedford and we've been assisting them with design consultancy and understanding what's possible on their plot of land.
You can find out more about how we can help by clicking on our architecture services page here. You can also contact me if you want to discuss a project or get some advice. We're a small team, small enough to care, and I welcome the opportunity of speaking with you, whatever the size of your project.
